About the Exchange Zone

The Exchange Zone is a teen family ministry of Summitview Community Church. It is comprised of families that have children ages 13-18, and addresses topics such as marriages, parenting, discipleship and community at this particular stage of life.

Parent small groups, called "Discipleship Teams" meet a couple of times a month for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer, and help plan events for both families and teens. Information on our different teams can be found on the "Teams" page of this site.

MPACT is Summitview's youth group. For more information on MPACT, visit www.mpactteens.com

Our Mission

The mission of Summitview's Teen Family Season of Life is to produce:

  • Parents who are fulfilling the Great Commission by discipling their teens so that these teen shave a heart that loves God before self or the world, a character that is mature and godly, and an intellectually solid Biblical foundation for their faith; to the result that these teens live and grow as fruitful disciples of Jesus Christ when they leave home.

  • For those parents who are also married, marriages that continue to mature and grow such that a foundation is laid for a united, fulfilling and fruitful relationship in the season of life that follows parenting.

  • Youth that experience "lion and bear" milestones in their faith through uniting together with parents and peers in Great Commission purposed events, activities, goals and dreams.

  • A Spiritual Community that supports every individual in this stage of life - whether they are a teen or adult, whether part of a single parent, blended, or traditional family - so that they can experience these four goals, through teaching, fellowship, service and seeking God together.

Why We Do what We Do

Our greatest legacy is the lives of our children.

  • Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3 NIV)
  • The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother. (Proverbs 10:1 NIV)
  • My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right. (Proverbs 23:15-16 NIV)
  • The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him. (Proverbs 23:24)
  • Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.  (Proverbs 27:11)
  • To have a fool for a son brings grief; there is no joy for the father of a fool. (Proverbs 17:21)
  • A foolish son brings grief to his father and bitterness to the one who bore him. (Proverbs 17:25)

God's mission in this world begins in our homes.

  • The Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
  • If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 NIV)
  • Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
